How to do it, with or without an app
- Get the final guest list and the venue's table sizes and shapes.
- Sort guests into groups: family sides, friends, work. Sit groups together first.
- Write down who must not sit together, and who needs to be near an exit or a high chair.
- If you offer a choice of meals, note each guest's pick so it can be shown on the chart.
- Draw the room: tables, the head table, dance floor, and their real angles. Tables at an angle in a real room are easier to plan when you can rotate them freely.
- Place guests seat by seat, then re-check the keep-apart list.
- Export or print the chart, and keep a copy for the venue.
