StarterLog is a sourdough starter log that runs entirely on your iPhone. It has no accounts, and it collects no personal data about you.

What we collect

Nothing. StarterLog does not collect personal data. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking or data brokers. StarterLog makes no network requests of its own, has no AI photo scan, and we do not know who you are or how you use the app.

Where your data lives

Every starter, feeding, rise time, bake plan and photo you create is stored in StarterLog's private storage on your iPhone. The app, its Live Activity and its home-screen widget share this data through a private app group on your device; it is never uploaded to us or anyone else.

If you have iCloud Backup enabled for your device, your StarterLog data may be included in your personal encrypted Apple backup, under your control through your Apple account. This is handled entirely by Apple, not by us.

Photo library

StarterLog can use your photo library so you can attach a photo to a feeding. These photos are saved only in StarterLog's local storage on your device, exactly like the rest of your records — never uploaded anywhere.

Rise timer & Live Activity

The rise timer and its Lock Screen Live Activity run entirely on your device using Apple's ActivityKit. No rise, feeding or timing data leaves your iPhone to make this work.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, StarterLog schedules feeding reminder notifications locally on your device using iOS's notification system. There is no push server and no account — reminders never leave your iPhone.

In-app purchase

StarterLog offers a single one-time purchase, StarterLog Unlimited, to unlock unlimited starters, the bake planner, the photo log and the widget. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit; StarterLog does not see or store your payment information.

Children

StarterLog is a general-audience kitchen utility app and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, we will post the updated version on this page with a new date. Since the app collects no personal data, any change is expected to be minor.
