Privacy Policy

ShiftRoster is a shift-rotation calendar that runs entirely on your device. It has no accounts, no sign-in, and collects no personal data about you.

What we collect

Nothing. ShiftRoster does not collect personal data. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking or data brokers. The app makes no network requests of its own — it has no server to send data to. We do not know who you are or how you use the app.

Where your data lives

Your rotation patterns, shift types, day overrides, hours settings, holiday state and pay-rate inputs are stored in ShiftRoster's private storage on your iPhone. The app and its home-screen and Lock Screen widget share this data through a private app group on your device; it is never uploaded to us or anyone else.

If you have iCloud Backup enabled for your device, your ShiftRoster data may be included in your personal encrypted Apple backup, under your control through your Apple account. This is handled entirely by Apple, not by us.

iCloud sync (optional, paid feature)

If you unlock "Full roster" and turn on iCloud sync in Settings, your roster, patterns, day edits and settings are mirrored between your own devices using Apple's CloudKit, inside your own private iCloud account. This data is synced to and from Apple on your behalf — it is not collected by us, we cannot see it, and it never passes through our own servers, because we do not operate any. Turning sync off, or not turning it on, keeps everything device-local.

Public holidays

Public holidays for all 16 German states are calculated entirely on your device using a built-in algorithm and a fixed holiday table. Looking up a holiday never requires or triggers a network request.

Calendar export (optional, paid feature)

If you unlock "Full roster" and choose to export shifts, ShiftRoster asks for write-only access to a calendar you pick, and only ever adds or removes the events it created there. It never reads your existing calendar events, and no calendar data leaves your device — this permission is handled by iOS itself (EventKit), not by us.

In-app purchase

The one-time "Full roster" unlock is processed by Apple through StoreKit. We do not receive your payment details; Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction.

Children

ShiftRoster is a general-audience productivity app for shift workers and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, we will post the updated version on this page with a new date. Since the app collects no personal data, any change is expected to be minor.
