Privacy Policy

RowCounter is built for knitters and crocheters who don't want their counting app phoning home. The app runs on your device, has no accounts, and collects no personal data about you.

What we collect

Nothing. RowCounter does not collect personal data. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking or data brokers. We do not know who you are or how you use the app.

Where your data lives

Every project, section, row count, stitch count, note and imported pattern file you create is stored in RowCounter's private storage on your iPhone. The app and its widget extension share this data through a private app group on your device; it is never uploaded to us or anyone else.

If you have iCloud Backup enabled for your device, your RowCounter data may be included in your personal encrypted Apple backup, under your control through your Apple account. This is handled entirely by Apple, not by us. RowCounter does not sync your data between devices on its own.

Photos and files

If you attach a pattern PDF or photo to a project, RowCounter copies that file into its own on-device storage so it can be shown beside the counter. Nothing about that file — its contents, its name, or the fact that you imported it — leaves your device.

Purchases

The one-time Unlimited unlock is processed by Apple through StoreKit. RowCounter asks Apple whether your account has purchased it and stores that yes/no answer on your device; it does not see your payment details, billing information, or Apple ID, and makes no network requests of its own outside of this StoreKit check.

Children

RowCounter is a general-audience hobby app and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, we will post the updated version on this page with a new date. Since the app collects no personal data, any change is expected to be minor.
