MeterLog is built to be a trustworthy record of your utility meters. The app runs on your device, has no accounts, and collects no personal data about you.

What we collect

Nothing. MeterLog does not collect personal data. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics SDK, no advertising, and no third-party tracking or data brokers. MeterLog makes no network requests to our own servers at all. We do not know who you are or how you use the app.

Where your data lives

Every meter, reading, tariff and reminder you create is stored in MeterLog's private storage on your iPhone, using Apple's on-device SwiftData framework. It is never uploaded to us.

If you have iCloud Backup enabled for your device, your MeterLog data may be included in your personal encrypted Apple backup, under your control through your Apple account. This is handled entirely by Apple, not by us.

iCloud sync

MeterLog Unlimited includes an optional iCloud sync feature, built on Apple's CloudKit. When you turn it on, your meters and readings are synced between your own devices through your own private iCloud account — the same account you already use for Apple's own apps. This data is never visible to us, is never stored on a MeterLog server (we don't operate one), and is not shared with anyone else; it stays inside your personal iCloud, under Apple's own privacy terms. You can turn sync off at any time in Settings, and the app works fully with it off.

Camera and photo access

If you choose to photograph or select a photo of a meter display, MeterLog reads the digits using Apple's on-device Vision text recognition. The photo and its recognized text are processed and stored entirely on your device — nothing is uploaded, and no photo or image data ever leaves your iPhone through MeterLog.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, MeterLog schedules reading reminders locally on your device using iOS's own notification system. There is no push server and no account — reminders never leave your iPhone.

Children

MeterLog is a general-audience utility app for household meter tracking and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, we will post the updated version on this page with a new date. Since the app collects no personal data, any change is expected to be minor.
